Default Bad shake!!

Ok first off let me start by saying I have a 2007 dodge ram 4x4 slt quad cab. Truck has about 90,000 miles on it. Last year I put 17in rims and 33" tires on it installed a leveling kit and put bilestien shocks all the way around(not the ones you can adjust) drove it all summer no problems at all just was a little out of alignment because I noticed front tires started to cup. Summer was over so I put my original 20" rims on for winter. Had no problems driving with it all winter. So springs here decide better get my truck aligned before I put my 33s on so it don't ruin them. Went and got it aligned Friday noticed right away after I picked it up from the shop it steered harder the tires hummed which they never did before truck would shake going around a slight corner at highway speeds. When you go over a bump the steering wheel jerks horrible. So I thought it was my old tires on my 20" rims that were cupped from the front end being out of alignment all winter. So I decide to put my 17" rims with my 33" tires on and see if the problem goes away. Not even close ten times worse truck shakes horrible now and when I hit the brakes hard feels like it will shake you out of the cab. Which could be the rotors but it never did that before. Still has the same jerk in the steering wheel when you hit a bump in the road I don't even want to drive the truck. So question is what can it be? I had none of these problems until after I had my front end aligned. Sorry for the long post just trying to be as detailed as possible so I can get some ideas before bringing it back to the shop on Monday. Thank you for any help I appreciate it very much.

Kyle

I had the same exact problem up until last week. I'd get a small vibration right at 55mph, it'd get worse gradually until I hit 70mph. Slight left hand turns on the highway it would shake. And braking through that 55-70mph caused a HORRIBLE shake where the wheel would almost jump out of my hands.

FIX-----New tie rod ends and an alignment. Fixed problem 100%.

That pretty much describes exactly what my truck is doing to a t. I was gunna guess either that or a bent tie rod. They told me when they did my alignment one of the tie rods was an SOB to get out so I thought maybe they might have bent it. Thank you very much ill tell them to look at that option first.

Ended up being tie rod ends and upper ball joints. Also the weights on all my wheels fell off so the tires were way out of balance. But now its rides like its brand new thank you for the help!!

Glad you got it figured out and fixed! I'm sure driving with the truck in that condition is dangerous but more annoying than anything....62 in a 55 is impossible!

Good to know thanks, I just figured that if I'm gonna be down there I probably replace both. And maybe throw on some 5100s since it'll need aligned anyway
