Key fob Battery. I wanted to take battery out of 2nd keyfob and store the fob. But was thinking it may kill the memory in the fob long term when battery is re-installed.

I'm all but certain the memory in the keyfob is stored on the circuit board of the keyfob.

Just to add....

I had GM truck many years ago. One of the remote's battery was getting really low. I pulled out the remote battery in the hope of getting a replacement soon. I ended up missplacing it. I found it almost two years later. Installed the new battery and everything worked fine.

Like I said, you'll be good to go.

Took battery out of fob and taped battery to outside of fob .
Placed fob in console of truck I case I need access to truck
And have no keys by hiding a pass key outside of truck
