Default 2013 ram express usb problems

First post here and couldn't find the answer to my question, sorry if it has been asked already don't really know how to navigate the forum yet. Anyways has anybody had problems getting their usb port to play music? When I plug in my ipod it works perfectly, but if I use my Galaxy note 2 in the USB port it won't play music just charges the phone. Does anybody know how to get my Note to play in the truck? I have the BS uconnect 3.0 radio, which is the worse radio i have ever had, why on a 30K truck do they put a 10K car radio inside?

does your phone have a "connect to computer" option when you plug it in? I know on my old head unit (aftermarket) in my dodge neon neon it wouldn't play anything off my phone unless I went into the setting>wireless and networks>tethering>usb tethering>connect to computer (or along those lines using a Samsung Galaxy S2) I haven't tried with my truck, yet, because I just use my USB flash drive for my music. Also, the trucks like the format to be WMP or MP3. FLAC does not work

On my HTC android just had to make sure it "mounted" as a drive and voila it worked like a charm. I personally really like the uconnect 3. It works well, sounds great and doesn't have another BS that I don't need (like navigation, bluetooth, etc). I already have GPS in phone AND a nice Garmin unit with lifetime map updates and of course several Plantronics bluetooth headsets.

Can't answer the question specifically, but my iPod connects perfectly w/ my low-end radio in my '13 Express. After reading a lot of threads on here, I think we lucked out with this unit, compared to all the electrical problems with the higher-end stuff. I neither needed or wanted a huge touch-screen in my truck.

Long ago I learned the valuable lesson in regards to electronics: the more important the device, the more important it is to NOT have it integrated with a bundle of other devices, since when ONE single component fails (and it will) ALL of your devices are down while the ONE gets repaired (or the whole system gets replaced, which is $$$$ especially when the warranty eventually runs out).

There are already enough distracted drivers as it is...seems like a bad idea in general to put SO many "apps" and configurable displays, at least while rolling. It would be one thing if we lived in a world where people don't drive stupid, but I may sound like an old fart but people today drive like crap...and of course 90% of these drivers are holding a phone either to their ear or on their steering wheel texting/watching shows/who the hell knows but their eyes ARE NOT ON THE ROAD as they should be. I honk at people I see doing this and they like to show me their "IQ" or "birth sign" but I'm trying to save their life of that of an innocent driver they WILL slam into. It's inevitable.

I have no problems connecting with my IPOD, Android, or thumb drive when the weather is warm. If it's cold, it won't connect to anything. I believe mine to be a connection issue with the female end of the USB cable. I'm hesitant to let the dealer tear apart my entire interior to replace the cable but it is annoying as hell. It'll be even more annoying when my free year of Sirius/XM expires.
