Yes the AZ sun really does a number on auto door seals. It was a buddy in AZ that actually told me about the product as apperently it is a major problem there.

Here the winter makes them take a beating as the extreme cold and freezing doesn't help them nor does the salt and belive it or not the salt some how does get to them.

Did you remove the pillar tape yourself? Or did you have someone do it for you? Did you also have to have it painted? Or is it already painted under there

Speaking on behalf of all Ram owners who've removed the tape, it's painted already under there. And just make sure to do it when its sunny/hot out so that you can peel it off in pretty much one piece. Remove the screw at the bottom to allow the window trim on the outside to be pulled away a bit. Takes about 10-15mins per door.
