That is still a lot of trucks. No wonder it takes a relatively long time when ordering one!
Ram is way up here in Canada compared to last year. F150 sales are about 10,000 more than Ram so far this year, so Ford is on pace to outsell Ram by only about 30,000 trucks this year. That's definitely progress compared to last year.

I would personally love to see just the sales for the 1500 trucks as I swear there are far more Ram 1500's than F150's, at least in my area. I can't find those numbers though.

I'm out in a rural area and most people have trucks. On my street, I'd guess there's 10-15 Ram's whereas there's maybe 5 F150's and a few other types of trucks.

Why do Rams sell so well in Canada?

Truck was sold today [5/19]. I got an offer I couldn't turn down. I had no more need for a pickup so I cut it loose. About to purchase a '14 Jeep SRT8 this week.

Grub out!

No clue. You guys have 10 times the population but only sell about about 4 times as many Rams as we do. Ram is on pace to sell far more vehicles in Canada than ever before.

You guys sell about 6 times as many F150's with 10 times the population, so it's not just Ram's that sell well up here, F150's do as well.

The Sierra sells much better up here as well, per capita. The big one I notice is the Silverado. It doesn't sell well up here at all. The Sierra easily outsells it. You guys sell about 14 times as many Silverado's as we do up here. Why that is I have no idea.

As for the rest of the trucks like all Toyota and Nissan trucks, they don't sell worth a damn up here compared to the US. You guys buy like 20 times as many Tacoma's as we do.

It seems that in Canada, mostly everyone buys an F150 or a Ram. A small number of people buy the Sierra or Silverado, and then a very small part of the population buys the rest of the trucks.

In Long Island I am amazed at how many Rams I've seen in the last couple of years. Still plenty of Fords and a few GM products but the Rams seem over represented and GM/Chevy see under represented compared to the overall US numbers. Now personally I think Cadillac must sell 1/2 its Escalades around here; every 5'2" soccer-mom seems to have one.

I own 3 Ford trucks, over the past month have been looking for a replacement for the oldest one. Haven't owned a Dodge since my 85 slant 6, 4spd. Loved that truck, but got more refined with age and needed A'C with these Texas summers. After getting jerked around at the Ford dealerships, and not finding anything worth buying within 3 years old. I looked at a couple Dodge's, found a smoking deal and haven't looked back. Overall, I think there are more of us Ford people being drawn to the dark side. In direct comparison, IMHO Dodge is making a nicer truck. I will be replacing another one, next year and won't waste any time on a Ford lot. F150's, are like Mustangs around here. It's nice to be different, and have them looking at your truck. Ford, should be concerned.

I saw the Ram 1500 advertised as the #1 selling half ton in Canada in some ads a few months ago.
If it is or not, I do travel in Western Canada a lot and from what I see its about 40% Fords, 40% Dodge/Ram and 20% GMC/Chev units (1/2 ton and HD combined). This is backed up by a recent Ford ad campaign that targeted specifically Ram owners to switch over... no mention of the GM boys.

Yeah, I wonder about the sales of only half ton trucks. I see more Rams in my area than anything else.

Those new RAMs are going somewhere. Sales for April were up a whopping 46% over last year and they sold 31,409 vehicles. They have a winner with this truck. Now if they could just make them without all the difficulties that seem to prevail on this forum.

That's the nature of a forum. Go over to a Ford truck forum (or any forum about a product for that matter) and you'll notice a lot of threads on whatever problems people are having. People are looking for help and to vent. Few feel compelled to start a thread on how uneventful their truck has been on the morning commute.

Just to chime in, my area of south louisiana seems to have quite a few new Rams as well. I don't have any hard facts, but it does seem like they are more popular now than ever before. I travel between Hammond and Slidell along the northshore of lake Ponchatrain frequently and in an area where Chevy and Ford use to dominate there are many more Rams on the roads around here. They are still the minority, but their numbers have greatly increased just from simple observation.
