What evidence do you have to back this claim?

The Vararam is going to give you better HP and torque numbers than the S&B no question. Honestly the S&B probably won't give you any noticeable gains. They will be very minimal if anything.

Now for the tuner!! It is by far the BEST option to help get your power and fuel economy closer to stock. It will actually give you noticeable gains all around. That's something you should definitely be considering right away. With your throttle body and exhaust the whitelightning custom tune would be a great choice for you. Contact Jeremiah or Andrew and Discount Auto Performance to get the best pricing. They'll hook you up.

I'd also recommend 4.56 gears as well. If you're going to go through the hassle of changing gears you might as well do it right and go big!

I know what the Manufacturers tell me, and what Dyno sheets I have seen. So far of the dyno's I have seen the Vararam out performed every other filter. We are currently in the process of doing our own in house Dyno testing on different CAI's waiting on a couple more to show up and then we will be off to the Dyno to get some unbiased results, we are hoping to have them completed by mid summer I am going to be testing 4 units. Vararam, s&b, k&n, and volant. The reason I am doing this is because not all manufactures will post their results so I figured why not go get them

Thanks
Jeremiah

will do, I am going to revert my truck back to a factory tune, factory throttle body, factory wheels/tires, and factory air intake for a base tune. and then change the intake do the runs, change it again do the runs, and so on untill I am out of intakes, and then add the 85mm throttle body, then a tune, and so on, and then up to the 87mm and repeat. It is going to take a couple of months to compile all of this and get it done as I have limited Dyno availability, and a good amount of time pulling out parts and adding parts. The only thing that wont be factory on the truck for the base pull is the muffler and tips.

I will document heat indexes, ambient temperature, humidity, etc etc.

Thanks
Jeremiah

That's awesome! Definitely looking forward to seeing those results. Great idea! Are you not going to test out the Airraid CAI?

OK.....so after the S/B CAI and the moes 87 TB have been installed the truck is almost back to where it was with the stock tires and ride height. i couldnt be more pleased with the throttle response and the torque i have gotten back. hopefully it will get even a little better once i install the 18" magnaflow muffler and Y pipe.
