A product I've been using lately is Jax Wax. It's ridiculously easy to use and gives a nicer finish than any other wax I've used so far. Plus it can be applied on hot surfaces in the sun which is nice if you don't have a garage or shaded area to work in.

Some other names I've heard thrown around on the forum are Zainos and Griotts Garage products. You could search through the Washing and Waxing section of the forum to find a lot more products and information on them.

Another great site to check out is autogeek.net. They have tons of great products at very reasonable prices. They also have a great youtube channel with very in depth videos on how to use every single product they sell.

EDIT: Use the link gonefishin776 posted to go to the Washing and Waxing section.

What do you want from your wax?

With just a wax you can choose any Two: Gloss, Durability, Depth. If you want all 3 you're going to have to add a polish into your process as well..

Personally, I really only care about gloss and durability.. Which is why I use Collinite #845 -- http://www.collinite.com/automotive-wax/insulator-wax/

A typical wax will last about 60 days. A good sealant will last about 6 months. Look at some of the sites people have highlighted and you will learn alot about different products, their uses and what results you can expect. There is a ton of great information in this section.

How long a wax will last is dependent on a number of factors. First a high quality wax will last longer than one of lesser quality. But other factors include whether the vehicle is garaged kept, a daily driver and if so is it covered most of the time while parked at work and atmospheric conditions to name a few. Meguiar's while may not be the best on the market, I believe it is fair to say Meguiar's makes a quality product and should yield good results when properly applied. I have used Meguiar's in the past, with good results typically getting 2-3 months out of a good wax job. If you seek a longer lasting product, consider a high quality sealant which can last, again dependent on factors mentioned above, 6-months to a year.

X2 on the Collinite 845 Insulator wax, it is by far the longest lasting wax I have ever used.

If you do end up purchasing some, make sure you shake the p*ss out of it until it is like milk, then apply to a soft textured/cloth applicator using very little product (it goes a looong ways) and apply in a straight line only, no need to use a circular motion, let dry to a haze or the beginning of a haze then use a microfibre towel/cloth to remove.

It is safe to get on rubber/plastic molding/rough door trim etc as it won't leave any evidence or residue.

Not claiming to be an expert by any stretch, but I use to work at a car detailing shop and like I mentioned, it is best wax that I have used.

These pics don't do it justice as they were taken with a sh*tty camera.

for a spray wax, my top 2 are duragloss aquawax and Optimum Car Wax..both awesome products...

for a regular Carnuaba, i like P21s or Sonax.

ive found myself leaving traditional waxes and heading into coatings..Opticoat is by far the best thing ive used, and second would be Cquartz.
