Default Who is responsible?

Just picked up my 2013 Outdoorsman from the dealership service dept. I was advised that because I downloaded the Uconnect update myself and not the dealer that the warranty won't cover the new radio I need. I told her that Uconnect offers it on line so that the owners can download their own updates so, why won't Chrysler cover it. She said it was a Uconnect problem not a Chrysler problem. I said that it is in a Chrysler vehicle and then she said something that really sent me over the edge. She said Uconnect is not Chrysler and Chrysler is not Uconnect. She said it was a Uconnect problem so I would have to take it up with them to pay for a new radio. What? I'm responsible to have Uconnect to fix this when it was OEM when I bought the truck. Wow!

call UConnect and find out from them. and if they say the dealer call DODGE Corporate, maybe UConnect will take care of it.

Just go to a different dealer and tell them your lights won't stay off and it's killing your battery. Show them the link to the thread on here that talks about it being common and that the only fix has been replacing the radio. Your dealer seems to be the only one who is giving you a hard time over this. If it you weren't supposed to update the radio yourself then there would not have been a website for it and uconnect would have told you to see the dealer. This should be covered by warranty and your dealer is just making it more complicated then it needs to be. Call Chrysler cs and ask them and when they say its under warranty tell them your dealer is refusing to fix it.

What he said, Chrysler and Uconnect are working together. Its OEM and Chrysler warranty does cover the problem. My dealer replaced my gauges twice (because they didnt belive that it was the radio) and my radio once all on Chrysler's dime, and Chrysler never fought them about it.

Change dealers, these guys are idiots to do that, bad press they will get, Which dealer, maybe we can help fuel that. Maybe go see the owner of the dealership, ask him how he feels about his clients.

I still can't believe she told me that Dodge isn't Uconnect and Uconnect isn't dodge when both websites have each others names all over.
I emailed CS and explained everything I could think of and just got a reply requesting the URL I got my download from. I told them in my email it was U connect. I sent the URL.

She doesn't know what she's talking about. Uconnect is part of Chrysler Group LLC.

http://www.chryslergroupllc.com/inno.../uconnect.aspx

Updates are available from the Chrysler site right now, you can check:

https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do

When I run my trucks VIN it lists an update available as of 2013/05/01.

Out of curiosity what was the URL you used to get your update?
