Default LSD or standard differential?

With all the issues out there with trucks arriving with the wrong gears, how can those of us that paid extra for the LSD be sure we actually have it?

I know you can look at the tag on the diff to see what gears are inside but will that same tag confirm if its a LSD vs standard diff?

Check your build sheet for (DASP Anti-Spin differential rear axle) this is the LSD.

Funner way is to do a burnout and check for 2 parallel lines of rubber on the road, open diff will typically only spin one tire or alternate between the two.

LOL, I actually thought about doing this but it will have to be in some dirt 'cause I seriously doubt that my V6 has the torque to break 'em loose on the pavement!

I don't have the LSD and still have trouble breaking them loose on dry pavement. It's not due to a lack of power, it's due to having an auto transmission. Give me a manual transmission and I'll leave half my tires buried in the pavement.

Does the LSD have a code on the axle tag at all?

I test drove a 13 Hemi with 3.55's and no LSD and a light power brake launch got one tire spinning a bit on dry pavement.
But I noticed quickly the issue is, first gear is too tall in these trucks.
The truck is a bit soft on launch.

You shouldn't need the 3.92's to break the tires loose on a pick up truck (that doesn't have a ton of weight over the rear tires) with a large V8 under the hood.

As for the 07. The Hemi had 340 hp back then, and less torque than currently too.
I would not expect you to be able to break the tires loose on an 07 when it's tough to do it on a 13.

Hopefully the 8 speed auto rectifies this by having better gearing for low speed acceleration.
