My 8 speed is also a 3.92 rear end.

My build sheet says I have the 3.55. I'm going to check later today to see what's on the sticker on the axle

I ordered a sport crew 4x4 8-speed with 3.92s as well. no way i would want 3.21s

I wasn't able to test drive a 3.92 truck though, only a 3.55.

can one of you guys with the 3.92 and have driven the 3.55 give me a little compro?

my tundra has 4.30 stock and I love the gearing, so I wanted to get the 3.92 as I figured that would be closer.

FYI: the 3.21s still perform well with the 8 speed due to the incredibly large gear spread, it will just shift more, but that's what a transmission is for. Having to get 3.92 in the days of 4 speeds are long gone folks, but I know change is hard.

Anyway, what matters is that you get what you ordered, regardless of your reason. If you ordered a 3.55 and got a 3.21, and the sticker says 3.55, Chrysler needs to swap them, end of story. Otherwise, take them to court and force them to do it.

Guaranteed some manager made the decision to install 3.21s when they ran out of 3.55s so they wouldn't have to halt the line. It was unethical and corporate needs to know, and pay the repercussions, so this doesn't happen again. Don't know about Chrysler but in my company, we have to take a bunch of ethics classes just for this sort of thing, which always ends up harming the business for not much gain, in the end.

I haven't picked up my truck from the dealer yet but I went and confirmed on my axle that I did get my 3.55 gears with my 8 speed. anyone know what the code is for the LSD ? Just want to make sure that's correct too

From my build sheet the code DSA is for "Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle."

Just an FYI, the build sheet should be correct. It's the window sticker and order sheet that will be wrong. I got 3.21 gears in mine, but it was ordered at a time when the 3.21 wasn't even an option in the ordering system. If I towed regularly, I'd be pretty pissed that my truck can't haul what I thought it was going to. Anyways, if your order sheet shows 3.55 and your window sticker does too, Chrysler will replace the gears. They offered to do mine, but I turned it down because I want the gas mileage.
