Called Dodge today, again, since the dealer gave the BS that all 5.7 with 8 speed comes with 3.21
So, Dodge told me that they are aware of the problem that a few trucks, like my Laramie come with a 3.21 gear. "They are making final decision how will they handle it and by the end of May, all affected owners will receive a letter from Dodge"
So, if you got the 3.21 and sticker does not match. Call Dodge and let them know that you are affected !!!

I am currently trying to find a person that ordered 3.55 gears but received 3.21 gears (effectively reducing your towing capacity by around 2,000 pounds) that lives in Missouri. I need someone willing to be a class representative in a class-action lawsuit to get this matter resolved. I have this problem with my truck, but obviously cannot be the attorney that files the lawsuit AND the class representative. Send me a private message with your phone number if you meet the criteria and are willing to answer interrogatories and do a deposition on the matter. The class representative generally receives compensation greater than the rest of the claimants for their time and energy spent in serving.

I have not seen anybody that added the option of 3.55 gears that did not get them. Only people that thought that 3.55 gears were standard and window stickers that stated wrong standard gears as 3.55 that mistakenly got the 3.21 gears. when I ordered mine the salesman stated 3.21 were standard and I ordered and received 3.92 gears. I just don't see the class action lawsuit is necessary for anything but chasing free money.

Judd, it would be better and more effective to put one thread and name that thread calling attention to everything rather then shot gun blast every thread with the same reply. just a thought.

OAG18,

Like many on this forum, I have already tried to resolve this with Chrysler and have been told that there is nothing that they will do. Unfortunately, it appears that a class-action suit will be the only way that those of us that spent $50,000.00+ on our fully loaded TOW vehicle will actually get what we ordered and paid for. I'm sorry if you think I am just "chasing a case" of looking for "free money". Look at my history and you will find that I am an active member of this forum. I just also happen to possess the knowledge that it will take to resolve this matter. I am not seeking free money as you stated in an earlier response. I simply want what everyone that is in my situation wants -THE TRUCK THAT I ORDERED AND PAID FOR! You stated that when you ordered your truck that you were told that 3.21 was standard and 3.92 was optional. Those of us that ordered in January were told that the 3.55 was standard on the Sport and Laramie and were never notified of any change. Chrysler acknowledges the problem, and has sent new window stickers on the units that have not yet sold that list 3.21 gears and a lower tow capacity. The problem lies with trucks like mine that have a window sticker that says 3.55 gears, has a reported tow capacity of over 8,000 but in reality has the 3.21 gears and a 2,000 pound loss in the STATED tow capacity. I am certainly glad that you ordered your truck after the change was made in the ordering system, but please don't judge those of us that were not so fortunate and now want the truck that we actually ordered. Everyone hates an attorney until they need one

Agreed Judd. Get what you paid for and settle for nothing less. The chasing money comment was pure ignorance. A class action will put pep in rams step.

The problem with class-action suites are the lawyers get fat and the victims end up getting a fraction of what they should.

I don't want a fraction, I need correction so my truck will fill its purpose of towing my tractor to job sites.

My dealership is still communicating with Chrysler so I hope to hear something next week. If this fails I will try our lemon law next.

Judd, I'm not saying your wrong. You're not, you should have received what was ordered, not doubt. However, I have to agree with Monster the only ones who seem to make money on class action suits seem to be the lawyers. Maybe you'll get what you want or maybe the lawyer will just pay his kids college tuition and the claimants will get a discount on their next purchase. I know people only like a lawyer when they need one but class action suits that benefit lawyers more than claimants is a big part of the reason why.

That said, I do think you should get capability you thought you purchased. My question is are you looking to have Chrysler swap out the rear for the one you ordered or are you looking to have them replace your truck?
