Why watch a stupid video? Go drive one. It will tell you much more than watching a video. Go try the real thing and drive it yourself instead of watching somebody else.

walked right past one last month at the lot. Gave the salesman a thumbs up when he told me what it was. Might of missed it, but did Chrysler even compare one against the other doing everyday stuff? Stupid videos?! LOL After stacks of brochures and countless hype videos, just curious what a real life infomercial from a fellow enthusiast would look like, is that alright...Hell you can find any other new vehicle with at least acceleration pulls posted up with all the buzz going around. I did find one do an acceleration test with an 8 speed and posted it up, but the owner all of the sudden takes it down...funny how that works
not all knocking the 8 speed bro! recently said I will be driving one eventually..I'm in for the action, and Im sure some lowly 13' 6 speed owner is too. so....... how about it hoss, fellow enthusiast! My mistake, but it was a 6 speed thread discussion which I have, and you?

I have not seen any videos of anyone going through the gears while shifting the 8 speed manually, like would be done at a drag strip

but this is letting the transmission do it automatically

Harsh but Honest review 8 speed w/ V-6 engine

If you notice, in the "Unexpected Surprises" video the shift lever is on the column. Can't be an 8-speed, now can it? And it appears to be the same truck as in the "mile-high" acceleration video. The 3-truck comparison video definitely uses an 8-speed. So, what's shown here???? A 6-speed accelerates slower at a mile-high altitude than does an 8-speed at sea level----ho hum!

I have a six speed in my truck and IMO it's a superb tranny for everything I want it to do.

Damn guys. Obviously the 8 speed is better than the 545rfe/65rfe(Assuming it doesn't have reliability issues or anything like that....which it appears that it's a proven transmission). Yes, if shopping for a truck and he 8 speed is $100 more then get it. But the point is the 545rfe/65rfe is a good transmission(better than most competitors even today), it is reliable(on stock to lightly modified engines), and it is modern. I bought my truck intending to keep it for 10-20 years(as long as possible). The "holy grail" 8 speed (I like that lol) is great but my truck drives just fine...
