Default HID lights

So I've been trying to install HID lights on my truck and can't figure out the issue. With or without the error code eliminators they don't work. I know the ballasts work and connections are right. So I'm on the verge of giving up on the idea of HIDS.

Anyone with any ideas I'd appreciate it.

Sean

When you say they don't work... are you saying no fire at all?

Two things to check. Your grounds and make sure you have the connectors facing the right way....or pinned correctly.

I know if you got the retro*solution kit that is possible.

Your truck utilizes a CANBUS system for the wiring and the HID kits need to be compliant with the CANBUS system. Not all HID kits will work

@bstunder...thanks for the info. I've looked at the can bus systems and they aren't cheap.

I think you should read this post about installing HID lights. He sums it all up perfectly and has great advice.

I have a 2013 Express. I put Spyder HID with 10000K bulbs installed by ProTuningLab. They inclued a harness that goes right back to the Battery. Works great. Now I hate how my high beams look.....

10,000K?? Yikes. That's a really blue color temperature. Nearly all (if not all) factory HID systems use around a 4,300k color temperature since it provides the most lumens per watt of power.
