So looking to trade a 2006 Magnum in on a 2013 4x4 quad cab and not sure I'm finding the right stuff. Went to a dealer and talking numbers on an express 729 a month for 73? Months was their offer... Salesman trying to sell me on a payment for total cost of 53k on a truck listed on their website for 26.8k. So any tips advice or methods to secure a legitimate price?

I just purchased a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 for $30,500 in Portland, Oregon. It was $9000 off the MSRP and then I had a $500 discount because a friend of mine I went to school with works at Chrysler. The price on their website is reasonable but the price in person is not accurate. I would reference the price on their website when they start throwing out numbers that are that far off.

If you don't like the price... tell them. They want you to buy a car more than they want you to walk off the lot.

If this is how you were treated the first time, I wouldn't go back to them.

BTW, the last thing you want to tell a sales person is how much your can afford per moth for a vehicle payment.

Go to Trucar or Costcoauto and build a vehicle with the options you want or are on the truck you are looking at. That will give you an idea on a number that you can use for negotiations.

I did this as well and have been trying to find the best price since I'm trying to be as cheap as possible with 4door 4x4 and 5.7

So far before talking trade it's around 27,600.

Now can the dealer start at invoice and then give you all the rebates?

I'm thinking the dealer was looking at a longhorn beside the express or he grabbed the wrong paper. That price is def a msrp for a loaded longhorn truck.

Do you happen to owe more on your trade so that is working against you?
