Default Submarine dodge

My dodge is a 2001 1500 5.2L , 2 wheel drive manual. My parking brake gave out at the boat ramp and my truck went for swim. It is my only transportation, and need to get back on the road. I was wondering if it was possible to convert it to carb system to a avoid the cost of replacing the electrical components.

Man, that's what is called having a badd day! How deep was the water? I would think electronics would not be that big of a deal, once dewatered, unless it was salt water... I'd be more into getting the water out of the diffs, and trranny, etc.

I don't think it's an easy process. I'd let it dry for a week or two.

Here's a picture of me at a boat ramp about 5 years ago.

That is the boat ramp at Prospertown Lake in NJ.

In FRONT of me is an F150 with a boat trailer jack-knifed. I can't find the other pictures of me with it hooked up and pulling it out. But that one is the one where we were getting set up to go swimming with a hook and strap.

It seems like they make a carb setup for the Magnum engines, as I recall this was so you could put them in older cars. But this is going by vague memory.

I don't think just a carb conversion is going to do much for you though, you still have ignition and a lot of other electrical stuff that needs to work.
