Default 35 12.5 tires on stock rims

I have searched on here and found a few threads stating 35/12.5 tires will fit on the stock rims and not rub. Can anyone confirm this?? I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of Toyo Open Country A/T's and want to be SURE they will fit on the stock rims without a leveling kit. I'm planning on getting a leveling kit, but I'm a few months out from getting the leveling kit.

Also, how much will my speedo change with 35s?

Thanks in advance,

RJ

They won't fit without a leveling kit and 1/4" spacers. You need BOTH before you can put those tires on your stock rims.

Your speedo will be out about 5-6%

The speedo reprogram depends on your dealer. The dealer that replaced my 8.4a did mine for free while it was there. Best thing is if you go in for a oil chance ask then. Usually if your having them so something else at the same time they will cut you a deal in the price to earn you business. I was going to install a factory remote start and I have gotten prices for the flash from $25 from a dealer wanting I to get my service work to $100 from one that just wanted to make $$. There are a few in between that I got.

Op, if you don't follow this before you order those tires you'll be screwed. A 12.50 wide tire needs a spacer to fit on stock wheels.

Thanks for the quick responses! I've tried finding comparisons on line but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have pictures if a truck running stock tires and another one running 35's? Is there much of a difference visually?

I'm thinking of just staying with the stock tire size.

Fella here username blkbaretta has a HBS 2.5" level with a RCX 1.25" body lift on stock 20's. he also shows same lift with aftermarket wheels and tires.
I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I just got Bilstein leveling shocks and probably will run the stock wheel/tires for awhile with level set to 2.1"

There's a huge difference. Not only because of the height of the tire but because of the width and aggressive look of them as well.

Here are a few good threads to look at with comparrison pictures. Yes there are tons... but you should find what you're looking for.

Here's my thread which has a comparrison picture between my stock wheels and tires (17's) and my 35's.
