Did this to my previous GMC, but with a $50 hid kit from fleabay. Lasted three years until I sold the truck and the lights were still functional. And for light output, seriously worth the money.

Just spitballing here but I would think the light manufactures probably don't put in a long life filament in a bulb that is designed to be used for hi beams only. If you think about you probably have your low/ fog on more than your hi

9005 is the low beam bulb.It's the same as the 9006 but with a coated tip.

No 9005 is a high beam, 9006 is the coated tip

Guys I pulled my bulbs out yesterday and they say 9005 on them,And my truck is a 2013 brand new,any help on this

I'm running the sylvania zxe in hi/low/fog. Plug-n-play, no melting issues. Do it, lots brighter! A lot cheaper than HID and still a very bright white beam.

I replaced my fog's last night and they were a 9005 from the factory. 2012 Outdoorsman CC. I put in Silverstar's and they are still whiter but not terribly brighter.

I just pulled mine, 9006 at 51w. 2013 Ram SLT. I'll still put the 9005 in with the 65w I just need to melt off the 2 strips (the 9006 had 1)
