Default Park Assist always black? UGLY

Are the park assist tabs on the rear bumpers always black instead of color matched to your bumper? I ordered a white Sport with park assist, haven't received the truck yet but I saw one with black tabs, looks terrible! Other companies color match them to the bumper, is that even an option with Ram?

Ya mine are black but for me it's not an issue. I do agree color matched makes perfect sense, not sure if its an option though.

there was a thread on here about color matching the sensors
maybe someone can find it
several automotive companies do it, like Mercedes, BMW, etc.

Wonder if they can be painted. If it is like a transducer for a fish finder it should work.

Not sure I'd be painting them, when they get ice on them they stop working.

You can always try plasti dip first. If that reduces the sensors effects don't paint them, if it doesn't have an effect paint over the plasti dip as a second test. If that doesn't effect it, i'd say its probably safe to paint them.

To me park assist is worthless. You're right, it looks gaudy. Get the rear view camera instead.

Color matched is not an option. On the Ram they are black. However, if the Dodge Journey comes in the same color as yours (I don't remember if plain white was an option, just pearl white) and if the sensors are the same you could probably swap them out. My mother's 2013 Dodge Journey in copperhead pearl has color matched sensors on her bumper. My Black Gold Longhorn with 2-tone White Gold bumpers has black sensors. Would have been such an easy thing for Ram to do to color match them to make them not stand out so much.
