Default Keyless entry not working

Ever since I bought my truck, the keyless has been a little finacky, but now its getting downright frustrating. I can stand right next to the truck and hold the remote up to the window or windshield and it wont unlock or lock. Sometimes it works from further away, other times I have to manually unlock it.

Is this a normal issue for these trucks? I have never in my life seen a keyless system that is this goofy.

I think this has been a complaint brought up before. Mine is goofy sometimes too, seems to sometime work better further away.

What's scary when this happens and it wont unlock your truck standing beside it; point your key at your head and press the unlock..works evertime although I get concerned using my head as a signaling beacon

Same thing happened with my truck. All i did was replace the key fob battery and it has worked flawlessly ever since.

Well, Im not sure if there was something misaligned, or maybe some crud in there, but after I pulled the FOB apart to see what battery is in there, I put it back together and its been working flawlessly ever since! Its nice to have it actually work all the time now!

Its usually the contact area where the battery sits inside the FOB.
Once in awhile, pull the battery out, clean the FOB contact area with a pencil eraser.
Dosent always need a new battery, contact points are usually the only problem.
I have a 2010 (60,000 miles) and have YET to replace the factory FOB battery.
I pull my battery out twice a year, use the pencil eraser, tugg on the contacts to make tighter...all good to go.
