Default Someone confirm?

So I've read several threads about people complaining about low heat to feet.
When I turn on defrost, I have full fan speed at the windshield.
When I turn on defrost & feet, I get some air at the feet and 3/4 the air at the windshield.
When I turn on just feet, I get a bit more air at the feet and still get about 1/4 the air to the windshield.

I don't know about you guys, but if I put on just feet, I want just feet. Does any of you experience the same thing? The only time I do not get air at the windshield is if I turn on vent/feet&vent.

My feet are always cold in this truck. I plan on modifying the vent to blow more air to my feet

i didn't understand this part until i took a relatively long road trip (800kms), it just take a bit of time to heat up the feet area. you don't actually want it to be warmer then what it is, after a long driving, if i only blow the feet area, it becomes too hot.

Air coming down on the feet is too low, unless it is just 100% on feet.

I have had this issue with my 2008 as the door broke that controls between defrost and floor. From what I have read it will always fails in the safe position which is providing air for defrost. So even if you have it on floor I think it was 90/10 Floor/defrost. Not sure what it would be at def/flr. Probably still have majority going to defrost.

Little off topic but my mirrors have the small defrost symbol on them which I imagine means heated mirrors. What button turns those on? 2014 express

Not sure if your controls are the same as on my Outdoorsman but I have a switch in the middle of the contoller(defrost/floor/vents). Third button over from driver.

That is the button for the mirrors. Just push the symbol in the center that is the button that turns them on.

The rear defrost activates your mirrors.

If the blend door fails, would that not affect the face vents as well? I just want to verify that the feet setting keeps air blowing out the defrost vents in other people's trucks before I go grumble to the dealer.
I've already informed them of the sporatic issue where if I have it sent to face and feet when I start the truck, there is no air at all until I switch to another setting and back.

No there are two doors that control where the air goes. Blend door is what controls the temperature. I learned this because here is a quote from the thread that I started about no heat to the floor of my truck

It controls temperature. Mode door 1 controls whether the flow goes to the main vents or into the secondary part of the system. Once in the secondary part, mode door 2 controls whether the airflow goes up to the defrost or down to your feet. Failure of mode door 2 generally results in it falling down thereby stopping airflow to the floor. From my understanding mode door 2 is the most common failure and is also the most difficult to repair. Even HeaterTreater says the dash has to come out. According to them "most find it easier to wear two pairs of socks rather than repair it."

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I hope this helps.
