Test drove 2014 Big Horn-V6, 8 speed Friday night. There was an interesting odor in the cab as we sat in the lot. Didnt smell like the "new car smell" and was not a pleasant smell either, and then i stumbled on this discussion. As I am shopping for a new Crew Cab and have 3 young daughters, is this issue occurring in certain models or in all 2014's? I dont want to smell bad and I dont need to hear my 8 4 and 1 yr olds going ewwww...daddy your new truck stinks...

Has anyone had this smell problem actually fixed? This is my second truck with this issue. First truck was replaced by dealer. Replacement truck, different engine, developed the same smell. Had hoses changed out, it made no difference. Waiting on next idea from those on high. Any ideas anyone?

Maybe you should read all the posts in this thread. I didn't wait around for Chrysler trying to gather up hoses I took it on my own and I have no more stink.

Mofish, I think it sounds like some of the replacement hoses had the same issue. I am taking my truck in today to have them document the issue. I have set up a case with Chrysler support. I will try cleaning them like TinMan68 did next after they document the issue first.
I would imagine that until they change the type of hose, the issue will not go away. Sounds like they just put the same crappy hoses back on.
I really hope they solve this quickly because it is getting worse.

Default This just Stinks!

I am glad that I came across the thread as I am victim of this stinking issue too. I have 3,700 miles on my 2013 Longhorn Laramie 5.7L 8 Speed. What a joke! This is my 5th Dodge RAM - 2001, 2003, 2006, 2010 and now this Lemon 2013. I logged an issue with my local dealer - first the service manager said he could not smell it. Then he said well I might have caught a wiff of it when we were standing in front of it but I can't smell it inside the cab. I had them have a mechanic pop the hood and open the radiator cap - WOW! the smell almost made me puke right there. I opened a case with Chrysler customer care - again what a JOKE- the case manager does nothing. Acts like I am making this issue up and tells me that they are not aware of this issue. Now that I have to turn the heat on in the truck it is getting worse. I am going to stop driving the truck but still make the payment. From what I can see this smelly issue was posted on the internet as far back as May 2013. I bought my truck in August. I find it hard to believe that Chrysler doesn't know about this smelly issue.

Chrysler does know about the issue. My service manager read me a Chrysler document that explained what it was. There is no fix at this time and my work order said "waiting on a counter measure to resolve the issue"

Cold tonight about 26 degrees had the heat on high could smell it a little so my idea isn't a permanent fix but got me 1500 miles without smelling it. I'll recoat it again tomorrow and see how much longer it lasts.
