Ok, here is the fix. After two new 2013 ram trucks, both with the stink,my second truck has been fixed. After 5 months of new hoses and coolant changes and a great deal of effort by my dealership and it's owner Chrysler told the dealer to change the hoses, and overflow pan, flush the system thoroughly and put the orange 2012 hoat coolant in the the truck. Can you believe this! They had to pull one hose off the assembly line to get this done. I spoke directly to the dealer rep. Who made this all happen. The dealer said they were told this is the fix that will shortly be a service directive. I have put a 1000 miles on the truck since this fix and the stink is gone. I hope this info will end the misery we have all gone thru.

After 3500 miles on my 2013 Longhorn I notice a strong odor with the heat and blower on high. It certainly does smell like a new vehicle smell.

Interesting they did this. Huge liability. All labeling, service notes, manuals and data sheets say to put OAT in it. Now when someone does use OAT as a top off or refill after a repair, you or the future owner has a ruined engine. Are there service warning stickers applied all over the place in the engine compartment to warn everyone of what they did.

Default Bad smell = BIG warranty issue!!

Wow! I can't believe they did that ... so I wonder if they are going to apply that fix to all 2013s. I'm still waiting to hear back from CCC. It will be interesting to see if I get the same story I

"They had to pull one hose off the assembly line to get this done."
this probably means the new ones being built right now will not have the issue....plus, they know very well what the problem is.

Wow, I haven't logged on in quite a few months...I guess it wasn't just me having this problem! BTW, it's still not fixed and Chrysler's customer service sucks! They deny, deny, and say I am the only one with this issue. I think I will direct them to this page!

our dealer showed us an email that states "Chrysler will be contacting all owners to have all rad & heater hoses replaced" because "all 2013 & 2014 Ram trucks will develop a foul odor from the organic coolant reacting with the rubber hoses". We're just waiting for the new hoses to come in...but it stinks. We want to know who is going to pay to have the interior of the truck cleaned & deodorized?

When I step outside my truck, I am starting to smell what I can only describe as cooked bugs. It hasn't invaded my heatings system
