Question Do I have a Rear Window Defroster?

Well, I see a little push button on the airflow selector switch that would indicate that I have a rear window defroster, but I cannot find anything in my crappy owners guide that would confirm that. There are no wires across the rear window and no vents, at least that I can see, for any rear window defroster. Am I missing something?

If you don't have the wires in the rear window you don't have the rear window defroster. The button is to defrost your mirrors. If your truck had the wires, the button would defrost both the rear window and mirrors

If you have a sliding rear window, you do not have rear window defrost. The two are mutually exclusive.

Yep. I had the exact same confusion a while back. If no wires in the rear window, no rear defroster. The "rear defrost" button will heat your mirrors; it does nothing else.

I have both in my longhorn as well. At least according to the documentation I seem to have read on it.

I have only the mirrors but in my Quad Cab, over the last 2 winters I have yet to see a need for a rear window defroster, mirrors yes but rear windows even at -40's it was still clear.

When I ordered my 2500 in January the two were not available, I tried to get the rear window defroster and the system deleted the sliding rear window. So I kept the sliding rear window and deleted the rear window defroster.
