Default HID Flickering Issues

So I had some repairs done to my 2007 5.7L QC and I got the body shop to throw in these HID kits I picked up. H13 bulbs for the low beams, and the 9006 for the Fog lights

They worked and looked great! ..that is untill you started the truck. They would flicker about 5 or so times, than shut off. I was talkin to some buddys and they were saying I'd need a relay kit. Is there a specific relay kit I need or is this actually what the problem is?

I also have the HID kit for my Fog lights but I didnt wanna throw those in till I knew if I need a relay kit as well. Thanks guys.

you need a relay kit with a 12v capacitor for the heads. and just a regular relay for the fogs. go to theretrofitsource.com. they will have everything you need.

+1 on What Bighemi04 said, theretrofitsource or ****************, both have everything you need to stop the flickering.

Actually what u need Is a canbus hid kit (ballast) with nothing in the lines. Line cancellers or resistors. Change out to canbus ballast and it will solve all your problems. With no errors or warnings.

Well still no luck, I have more option I'm gonna try then I give up and my gf gets the HIDs for her jeep lol. Keep in mind guys I'm from Canada, so we got day time running lights up here, which I hear is screwing me over (somehow). I'm using a Best HID kit, some cheap brand (first problem) and I had that problem I was talking about, works fine till you start the engine then it flickers five times and shuts off.

I went to Lordco and bought those Canbus HID ballast, which said EMI Supressor on it, didn't do a damn thing. So I went to Mopac and bought some other plug and play relay/capacitor and hooked that up, guess what? Didn't do a damn thing. So I thought, hey let's try both these parts, ANNNNND STILL, not a damn thing. As I was saying earlier I have one more thing ill try, some part from Mopac that runs power directly from the battery to my headlights.

If it doesn't work I'm gonna say screw it, wasted enough time and money on it.

Just go to **************** and get a complete kit for the Ram, email there sales they will give you all the parts you need to order a real kit that will work. I have a 2102, with DRL (in Quebec), Installed there kit, complete with digital ballast and 55 watt HID 6000k, relay harness with resistors and all, worked first install, over a year now, great product. There a little slow on the emails cause there pretty busy, but they will get back to you with what you need to have excellent HID's on your 2007 RAM

Wow, you really into your canbus kits. Not all trucks will work with those, 2007 Ram is not the same as your 2013, also, watch your light controller and switch don't get over burdened with time by running 55 watt canbus kits, they have been shown to sometimes cause premature failure on older systems. Its nice that you give information to members and give them possible products for there applications, but no need to "!!!!" and twist members into going with those specific products. Its nice to be passionate but take a breather bro. Also, would not recommend 55wats in your fogs, many have reported that the fog units are too small and over heat causing some melting over time. Also 55watts in the Fogs will over flare and can cause on-coming traffic some visual issues. Just a heads up

The 200.00 Kits are a bunch of BS. I bought one from the retro place and paid 200.00 for a fancy aluminium box repacked kit that came with relay and some other crap.Guess what it didnt work. They flickered. I was a sucker who fell for the "2013 Ram only kit"

Buy a cheap 25.00 ebay kit and this http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-Warning...edf1a3&vxp=mtr

This will fix your issue. If it doesn't ill paypal you 10.00 I just did HID install on my 2013 Laramie. I bought the expensive kit and ended up having to get cancellers.
