The spare is still a steel wheel= heavy

You'd be far better off with a set of factory 17" cast aluminum wheels,

I see them on kijiji/fleabay all the time barely used.

They are by far the lightest of the stock wheels at just a hair under 24lbs ea.
Throw a set of 275/50R17 DR's and you're good to go.

Some guys even installed softer compound Winter Tires (UMP's I think)
instead of DR's because they stick like glue when warmed up, street legal, way more puncture resistant than DR's ...ask autobred.
Run them on all 4 corners and rotate them FTW!!!

I think stock 20" Alum/Chrome Clads are 34-36lbs each
and around 80lbs total with 275/60R20 Good-for-a-Year rubber
Mine with 305/50R20 TerraGrapplers are well over 90lbs ea.

My Moto Metal 17" x 9" wheels are just about 30lbs (32 lbs of DR = 62 lbs total)

that was my street/strip setup I got 60,000 miles out of them with 100 passes at the track. General grabber uhp 275/55/17 with an overall diameter was 29". 60lbs total weight per corner. It dropped me to about 4.56 gearing from the stock R/T 4.10 diff. 1.86-1.88 60ft consistent...
I didn't realize the oem 17" were that light, need to look some up..

these look like a good option.. says 22lbs each and look half way decent for 114 bux each for a 17x9.. they are v-tec raptor wheels

Even being steel, I'm not so sure the compact spare/tire combo would be heavier than a 17" alloy wheel/wide tire combo. I will weigh my spare and see what it is. Plus, the CS is a lot more narrow, decreasing rolling resistance. At this point I'm just being hypothetical anyway, cause I seriously doubt they would let you run them at the track in the first place.

My spare is just over 75lbs

only about 5 pounds under a full size GY 275/60R20 on a cast 20" factory chrome clad wheel.

Stock Cast 17" wheel with a General Grabber uhp 275/55/17 would be about 54lbs
