Default P2509 truck will not start

New to the forums and also new to a diesel Ram. I have a 2004.5 3500 4x4 DRW that the radiator went out in, actually the drain plug would not seal. So I replaced the radiator this weekend. Also, since the previous owner had put in 100hp injectors and the truck was using a very old Edge system I decided to upgrade and went with a Banks Economind. I know a lot of people are not fond of Banks, but for what I want the truck to do, the unit will work fine. Already have a Banks air and scoop kit and tomorrow will start installing the a new Banks intake and intercooler.

However, when I hooked up the Banks it connected to the cam/crankshaft sensors. The Crankcase showed signs of corrosion so I replaced it. The truck cranked and when I put it in gear it went dead, completely shut down.

The gauges are not working and it throw the code P2509. The Banks unit shows no errors.

I removed the connections to the old thermocoupler and the gauges started working and it cranked. Thought I had it fixed, but after 1 minute of idling it went dead and the gauges are no longer working.

Will call Banks next week. But anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I don't think it is the Banks unit (yet), I suspect something in the ECM went out.

I have looked over all my connections and can not find any loose or shorted connections.

The good news? The radiator no longer leaks

hopefully this will help....

P2509-ECM/PCM POWER INPUT SIGNAL INTERMITTENT

The ECM receives a constant voltage from the batteries through the unswitched battery wires that are connected directly to the positive (+) battery post. The ECM receives switched battery input through the vehicle Ignition Switch wire when the vehicle is turned on. The ECM will illuminate the MIL lamp immediately after the diagnostic runs and fails. During the time the customer may experience some performance effects such as engine dying or hard starting. Fault information, trip information could be inaccurate. The ECM will turn off the MIL lamp after the diagnostic runs and passes in 4 consecutive drive cycles.

When Monitored:
Continuous - key on or key off.

Set Condition:
Loss of voltage detected at the ECM for a calibrated amount of time. Supply voltage to the PCM fell below 6.2 volts momentarily or the ECM was not allowed to power down correctly (retain battery voltage for 30 seconds after key off).

possible causes.....

POOR CONNECTIONS AT THE BATTERIES
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE
OPEN FUSED B+ TO ECM
OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT
BATTERY + SHORTED TO OTHER CIRCUITS
RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED
BATTERY + SHORTED TO GROUND
DEFECTIVE BATTERY

I have seen this code set if you try to start the truck with only one battery hooked up

You may want to get a DMM and start pin'ing your inputs and outputs for voltage.

Default CP3 leak now

Thanks,

Actually the truck had sat long enough the batteries were going dead. But they also would not take a charge. Replaced the batteries (both) and the truck cranked right up.

Well. So to speak. Now I have a terrible leak around my CP3. So bad the truck will only run 30 seconds and it is out of fuel to continue running.

have not found any info on repairing, other than just replacing the pumps. The leaking could have been the source of my poor gas mileage all of this time.
