Default Mopar Ecometer thoughts?

I have Ram 1500 ST and no EVIC. So I was looking to monitor mpg and was wondering if any members have had experience with the Mopar ecometer. I understand that having a tuner will take care of this plus more but don't want the warranty hassle that I will have to deal with if I need to bring it in. I am curious to find out which is better for my driving habits... MDS off or on, and improve driving habits to maximize gas mileage. Also I understand there are other models that may be better, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Default Ecometer

I bought one of the ecometers and like it. The MDS throws it for a loop though.... The mileage appears to drop whenever MDS kicks in. It takes a bit to set it up but gives good indication of fuel mileage on the run.

Thanks for the info. I thought this was a lost thread or I was the only one without the EVIC.

Does anyone know if that ecometer can be modified to fit in an a-pillar pod or if there is one for the pillar pods. I would like to get one as I dont have the EVIC either. And I want to put in the the a-pillar pods for future mods under the hood
