I called Ram directly and the representative I spoke with said there was no way to have these turned on with a US model truck...I just don't get it. It's a load of crap if u ask me! I know it can be done it's just all these people we keep dealing with don't want to take the time to actually work with us, THE CUSTOMER, to figure it out and make us happy! A lot of good things to say about Dodge / RAM...but this is one negative strike in my book.

They are right about that, it sets the truck to Canadian. I don't know what else that changes, could be silly crap like the turn signal flash rate. All these stupid little rules between political interests is amazing. What am I saying, if wasn't for this silliness I wouldn't have the job I now have .

But that's what you want.... All rams down/up here are like that. The LED turns are the DRL and never shut off

Using the Chrysler Diagnostic Engineering Tool:
He selected the BCM, ECU Configuration 2 (CBC Features), DRL Configurations. From the drop down he selected Canadian DRL.

Next he selected DRL Lamp Location, (just below DRL Configurations) and from the drop down selected Turn Signal DRL.

Last, he clicked on the write button, cycled the ignition, and wala, DRLs are on again.

Sorry the pictures of the computer screens are blurry (guess the phone camera didn't like the screen) but you can make out the data.

I am taking her in first thing Monday morning. IF this works, I will kiss your feet if and when we ever meet.

Question: I have my Recon BigRigs wired to illuminate amber running lights with the parking lights. If I choose the same setup, will that force my BigRigs on as well? If so, then I will choose the high beam option.

I've already had my dealer try these exact steps and they did not work. There were no DRL options in the BCM

Sadly, this was a no-go for me. My dealer doesn't have the software/program shown in the pictures. So, my hunt continues. I am thinking I shall contact every single dealer between Price, UT and Gatlinburg, TN and see if any of them have the Chrysler Diagnostic Engineering Tool. If they don't, then end of conversation. But if they do, then I'll give them my story and see if they'd be at all willing to turn on my DRLs on my way through. Though I fear that this is something that I will have to learn to live without. (Even though it is a safety feature and SHOULD be able to be activated!)

My dealer has tried a couple times and spent quite a bit of time on it, wasnt able to do it. they have done other cars/trucks for me before and the tech knew his way around the Startscan or whatever it is.

If anyone had a dealer do it successfully post up their name and town. My dealer will be more than happy to call them and find out how they did it.

Plan for a trip/weekend up to Canada and a dealer here can certainly do it as its mandatory to have it here
Just a thought.
