I live in Mass and the only dirt the truck would see is the one my wife's parents live on in Brattleboro Vt. The truck gets plenty of mileage and is currently at just under 50k.

The rear emblem was just masked carefully with fine lines tape and then cleared over.

The stripes are pretty much coolwater blue metallic from the 09's that has the metallic in it. It's pretty close to the wheels but are slightly different. I'm considering changing them to the proper plasti dip blue and even going matte with them.

I would only have done blue on a mopar as I think it's somewhere in it's DNA to have bold loud colors, and the reaction is pretty good. Kids at school where I work think it's the balls, and it starts conversations at the car show which is always more fun than not. The only two outspoken critics so far were the old lady next door and the bitchy teacher I work with so I figure I'm doing something right.

I did like the black rims myself but everyone around here and their mother has black wheels now so this makes it different which is why I'm going with blue this year.

I also like how when they were chrome too but I'm more of the sporty aggressive look vs. flashy.

I need to get around to getting a rolling photo shot with my truck.

[QUOTE=Asur;1102165]The Badge comes apart, the black behind the chrome head can be removed, and then painter or vinyled.

Thanks for the answer, Asur (rep points). However, I have an early 05 model where the emblem is on the upper cross member of the grill and I believe is it molded in to the grill so it will not come off. But that's OK, just means I'm gonna have to get creative. I would still like to know what color the strip is. I believe Chris b has the same color. If it's not, it's very close.

the hood stripes are just something that my local vinyl/sign shop had in stock and most closely matched the metallic blue paint availalbe on 09 rams. The paint on the emblems was a rattle can dupli color can that I picked up at autozone to match the same 09 ram blue paint.

your best bet for your hood emblem you cant remove might be to just tape around it and plasti dip it black. you can then paint the background in by hand with a small brush and touch up can if you'd like.

Nice truck man! Looks like a lot of thought and work has gone into it. I understand the desire to stand apart from everyone else but I like the black rims better too. I would also consider removing the step bars. They are nice but they look a little out of place on a sport truck. I would definitely remove them if you lower it, which by the way, I think is a great idea!! Also, have you considered smoked/tinted tails?? I think they would look nice on your black truck.

Just my thoughts man but it's a nice truck just as it is. You sound like you like to change things often so keep us updated.

I like it.

The truck can not only take the family where they need to go, but dad still has some hot rod to have fun with. You can't ask for more than that.

Keep up the good work.

Can't blame you when it comes to black rims, seems everyone is going that route. Preferred the chrome myself but definitely not hating the blue.

Love those headlights, where did you find them?
