Default tire warning light

When I drive around 70 mph the tire warning light comes on for about 15 minutes or so. Then it goes off for a while. When the tires get hot does that make the light come on?
Thanks
God Bless +

If you have a EVIC in your truck go to the Tire Pressure read out and check your pressures when it happens. My guess is you have a tire that is probably on the border of being overinflated. An under inflated tire will do the same until you build up the heat causing the pressure to rise. Easiest thing is if you don't have a EVIC is to check the pressure in a 4 tires.

probably no evic, what is your tire pressure, if its more than what it says in your door and they heat up, the pressure will be too high hence the warning. Check your pressures when hot and compare to the door info. since it only happens when your running highway speeds, then I am thinking your pressures are too high and when they heat up your over the acceptable pressure limit. Let us know what you find.

Default tire pressure

I checked the pressure and all are 35lbs. This morn it was raining for about 3 hrs while driving and the light didn't come on. When the sun came out and it warmed up it came on.
I failed to mention in my first post the back of the truck is full of stuff. We are moving to FL.
Thanks

I think your tires should be around 40 psi, if your at 35 your way to low, check your door for the correct psi and let us know how things are going.

Does anybody know the psi number that causes it to read "overinflated"? The reason i ask is because i have 10ply tires and i run them about 50psi with them fluctuating to 55 in warmer temps and i have never had this warning?

55 is like way to high for a half ton. I run 36 in my 10 plys. Chalk line your tires and see how they are wearing. Just because a tire has a max psi doesnt mean you should run them on the verge. Just don't want you to wear them out.

The tires are wearing great, 12,000 miles with not the slightest sign of improper wear. I'm uncertain about your tires but on mine 50psi is nowhere near the max. 80psi is the max recommend psi.

There is no over-pressure warning. The light is for low-pressure only. On the highway, the pressure should go up a little. Use the label on your door for the proper inflation pressure to use. 35 psi sounds about right though for a 1500 unless you have an E rated tire.

You could check the spare tire also. I don't think it has a sensor but it wouldn't hurt to look at it's pressure.

When the light comes on, is it steady or does it blink first? If it blinks, that is a fault and not necessarily a low pressure issue.

Are you sure it is the tire light that is coming on? Just asking because there are multiple lights in the cluster.
