Nice Ram
you won't regret getting the diesel while hauling horses
the 1500 is just a tall car with a bed, even with the HEMI, 8 speed, & 3.92
coil springs suck for a real working pickup

give me Leaf Springs & a good set of shock absorbers any day, if i needed a pickup for actually working

Thanks, GYyankee! The horse trailer is only a (2) horse trailer-about 20' in length. Loaded with (2) horses and gear, the 1500 would have tackled it nicely. We have a lot of 7 and 8% grades here, so I'll be happy with the CTD. The real test is when we purchase a TT. The wife wants a 30'
luxery home! I'm trying to talk her down a bit...

Beautiful truck HorseMan! That CTD ought to give you the power you need no matter which size trailer the wife wants. Hope it treats you well!

I also use the light load setting. What I have found is it is easier to just leave it on all the time and then adjust the pressure based on need rather than messing with turning it on and off. The system does not read for overpressure so that is a non issue.

Thanks!

I agree. I've been leaving my light load setting on and actually running the lower PSI. The ride is much nicer that way. Easy enough to add air when needed.

Horseman: Nice ride! You did good by getting the 2500 & cummins. Just picked up my 3500 today and seems to be everything I hoped. Got the towing prep package. Now I need to find a gooseneck ball that will work so the truck can get to work pullin' the 5-horse. Anyone know what ball will work? Dodge said still in development (?). At first glance it looks like a Reese Elite gooseneck ball (Ford 2011 and up) might work (etrailer site) but not sure. Anyone have any suggestions?
