How hard is it rebuild the carb? I never done one before and i want to do all the work to this truck. I've done a tune up and it still spitting and sputtering. its sat for about five years so i think it might have trash in it.

i think it might depend on what carb you have. some are harder than others. i think most of the stock carbs could be a bit of a pain to rebuild but not impossible if you have patience. if is has something like a aftermarket Holley 4 barrel it would be super easy to rebuild.

i have not rebuilt on edelbrock carbs don't look too bad to rebuild. they just look more time consuming to take everything apart which may take patience. there is some video's on youtube of how to rebuild a edlebrock carb.

Yeah, they're probably the easiest 4V carb to rebuild. Based on the Carter AFB. Elegant simplicity.

There ia a round thing on the driverside of thw carb with a rod coming out of it. when i hive it gas the rod comes out and keeps the engine idle high for a minute or two. would it be ok to take that piece off. its not the choke.

Every time i push on the gas pedal the rod will come out and keep the engine idle high for a minute or two then the rod will go back in and let it idle back down.
