Default Headers Burned Shift Cable

I was under my truck today and noticed that my shift cable was sitting too close to my LT headers and has melted it. I want to replace it but have not found much information on how to do this. Is this something that I can do myself?

do a google search on truck megashifter... as for direction's the one that came with the megashifter was really good... not sure what I followed to remove the column shifter although that wasn't hard either... and it was much more easier than I envisioned too, I was kickin myself for not doing this earlier..
