Yeah, you are right when you hit the remote or open the doors these turn on, then fade out after a while. I like them best that way.
This is how I would want to do it as well, as I wouldn't want them all the time either!!

Yours just come on when you open the door or turn the dome light on correct? I wired mine right into the dash lights so that they come on whenever my lights come on which gives me a blue underglow under the dash at night.
Did the same thing, and added a pot to adjust the intensity, like that I just get a nice blue glow at the feet when driving at night.

Nice setup on the LED's

Yeah, I did them on my car a few years ago. On my car, when you hit the remote or open the door the dome lights, footwells, and door handle courtesy lights are blue. Then, when you shut the doors and start the car, all the blue fades out and all the dash, cupholders, glove box, ash tray, coin tray lights are all red.

When the seats are folded down, you can't see the strip, just the light from them.

The green matches the dash lights, and look a little "other worldly" Ha.
My overhead/dome lights are all green LED as well.
Looks awesome; thanks for posting!

Are these wired into pocket 11? That seems to be what I Can find about wiring stuff into the dome lights. I'm looking to do this exact same thing in green as well, but with a few more lights in other places too. I'll be sending you a PM soon with some other questions.

I used two 4" LED strips and mounted them to the very bottom of the middle panel on either side of the hood release. There's a nice flat spot underneath there that they stick onto very well.
