Talking Arrived ! new RAM !

Well, it only took 8 weeks, but the wait was worth it. What a sweet ride.

Firstly, thank you to all of you ! - the first 8 weeks of of being a part of of the RamForumz has been of great value. What a learning experience. From the Uconnect issues, the 3.21 vs 3.55 - just being able to ask the questions and getting great feedback. Learned a great deal. TY to all

OK - Dealership had it all ready to go, did my inspection, and off I went.

Ordered the V6 and 8spd .. need the fuel economy .. as I put on between 200km to 500km per day !!! - yes, that is a lot of driving ...

Inspections details:
Paint looked great, and felt good .. no dings dents .. so far so good.
Crawled under .. yup .. got the 3.55 as ordered - this made me feel better ..
checked to see if what I ordered was on/in the truck - check !

Loved the look and feel of the Katzkin Leather .. they did an awesome job !
and the shoulder profile on the buckets really enhanced the look.

The UnderCover Flex cover - fit great .. easy to operate.

The Line-X - looked good, no thin or missing spots .. felt great to the touch.

Loved the way the 20's looked on the truck.

Front of the truck looks great !

Tint - yup .. nice touch.

W2W's - really made it easy to step up and get in ! - and it made the side of the truck look great.

Rear seats, leg room ... just enough space.
Like the storage under the seats .. the subwoofer takes up 1/2 the space, but never the less .. still got some space. The fold flats will come in handy.

Liked the way the chrome on the nose and bumpers looked, a good fit with the Gray .. and complementary IMO.

The inside, WOW ! for a truck ! - great looking ..
Lots of room in the front, and great room in the back (mind you, it is a QC).

Uconnect - Firmware was current - that was one less thing I had to worry about. Nice interface.

GPS - programmed home, and it worked excellent - more testing to be done as time progresses.

The Alpine system - just friggen great .. had to tone down the SUB .. but the sound is fantastic.
FM sounds just great.
XM - very very nice - first time using it.
Used a USB memory stick - loaded with my tunes .. sounded just great ..

So far, UConnect has not disappointed ..

Paired my BlackBerry - no issues, loaded my contacts .. it found my txt messages .. could send the precanned txt messages .. now looking at how to send txt via voice .. need to play a bit.

The EVIC system .. really nice .. the 7" makes it very easy to see. Programmed all aspects .. shows what I want see just fine.

Ordered from the parts department, Mopar Fender Flares, they look good, need to hit them with some paint, and on they go !
Also picked up the plastic door cap for the Cabin Air Filter mod, will do that this weekend.

Now the ride .. WOW - I don't have the Air Suspension .. but the ride is just great.
When on the highway .. used the cruise .. and set it at 100km .. when the road was level .. the truck was only sucking between 4l to 8l per 100km !!!
on a bit of an incline, I could feel the 8sp shift .. usage went up to about 12-14l per 100 km ... then settled right down ..

The V6 sounds great, the 8spd .. really smooth, the suspension .. great ..
I see no issues with long long long rides.

Again, a very very positive first experience.

Small issues:

My arms are not long enough to perform a compete hood wash ! - dang - this truck is tall and wide !

Need to get a step ladder to wash the top of the truck ! Really .. this is a FULL Size truck -

Here are a few shots .. the day was a bit overcast .. Thanks again to all of you for posting your experiences and knowledge.

Oh yea, they put on a HEMI Badge on the drivers side !! .. going to leave it on for now .. when I first walked up to the truck .. my eyes widened .. oh no .. not the HEMI .. sales guy put me at rest .. told him to keep the badge on for now ..

Glad to see you finally made it. Nice truck.
Remember from the other posts if it starts to smell bad it's the interaction of the hoses and the anitfreeze. This is just starting to come out lately. Hope they fixed it when yours was built.

Good luck!

Congrats on your new truck and thanks for the nice report.

I agree with your comments about this forum and the great threads and comments. So much information. I would not have gotten nearly as much information from any other source.

Very sharp looking truck, and it's reassuring hearing you so far haven't found any issues, especially with the paint and the rear diff gear ratio.

Curious, what dealer did you deal with if you don't mind?

Also wondering about the undercover flex cover and the plastic door cap for the air filter mod? I assume the cover is your Tonneau cover but I haven't read/heard about Cabin air filter mod?

Also glad to hear you like the stereo, that is one option I had to have and why my dealer ended up in the long run just ordering me a truck as he couldn't find one with that option and couple more I had to have.

Good luck with the truck, I hope it serves you well.

Hi Irv, I dealt with Peel Chrysler in Mississauga.

The undercover Flex cover - yes - Tonneau - http://www.flex-cover.com/ - Looks great .. and so far working just fine - nice fit !

The truck does not have a Cabin Air filter .. so there is a mod, that you remove your glove box - cut into the compartment that air flows into your cabin, place in a filter - and snap on the Cabin Air Filter Door - the forum has quite a few DIY photos .. mod should take about 20 mins to do.

Your post with your good experience is very appreciated by those of us like myself that have a truck in final inspection for a really long time and getting paranoid.
