Default Wheel spacers needed?

Hey everyone,

Just got some Ruffino Baja wheels for my 2007. I think they look great on the truck. The problem is my mechanic feels I need spacers. He said the space was too big and the weight of the truck could do damage to the wheel?!The guy before me didn't have these spacers,I even asked him if they were needed. I havent experience any shaking, it is running as good as the oem wheels(maybe better!)
I attached a picture of the front passenger side wheel. Does anyone agree that spacers are needed.

Thanks

how close is the tire to the upper control arm ?

do the tires rub on the sway bar at full turn either way ?

No nothing like that.
The mechanic seemed to believe it needed spacers..that's it.
I was surprised, I felt it was ok,there was no looseness when the mag was on.
He kept end going on about the space you see in the second picture, how the truck is heavy.
I don't mind paying the +\- 30$ for the spacers, but. Why put them if they aren't needed!
The truck is running great, the tires are the same size as original.

Anyways,any opinions are welcome.
Thanks

The only reason for running spacers is if your tire is rubbing if not then there is no reason I could see to even think about it. What he may have meant were hub rings not wheel spacers. The hub bore on my wheel is larger than my truck but I have no issues with drivability. If it drives fine don't worry about it. Also if 5 lugs weren't enough to support the truck at some point dodge probably would have changed to 6 lugs.

I agree with you.
These guys are nice, but I don't think they know rams much.
It didn't make sense to me what they were saying.
The truck is running great. No shakes.
I'm thinking about contacting the wheel manufacturer , or a shop that sells these wheels. My gut feeling is they will say same as you,it's ok.

Thanks for the input.
