Default Drop hitch

What are you guys using for drop hitches with your factory height 4x4 4th Gen Rams? I hooked my camper up last weekend to move it out of its winter hibernation spot in the yard, and it was way too high in the nose. We were previously towing it with our Durango, and it sat nice and level. I know I have to buy a drop hitch shank for my weight distribution setup, and was just wondering what the rest of you run.

I know I have to take some measurements to find the exact number for my rig.

The drop hitch shank is what you want, check craig's list. I bought a nearly complete WDH for $60!.

I know what I want lol. I already have a WDH, but the current shank does not have enough of a drop. Im asking what size drop do you guys use? 6", 10", etc.

It's dependent on your trailer so what works for one might not work for you. Use the instructions HERE and you can figure the necessary drop.

That's immaterial. It's only a useful comparison if you asked what drop people were using if they have the same trailer you do. Most trailers are around the 17" mark for hitch height but not always; I have two different trailers and both require a different drop so I have an adjustable. So if it helps one trailer needs a 4 inch drop and one has a 6 inch drop. I use airbags to stiffen the rear of my truck. If i didn't use the airbags I would need less drop for my trailers because the truck would squat a bit more.

Ok, I give up. lmao

I guess something that Im curious about doesnt matter because someone else says it doesnt. If I was asking what drop hitch I should use, I would see your point, but thats not what I asked. Whatever.
