Default Chrome sidestep tread replacement

I have the chrome sidesteps on my 2009 RAM quad cab and the plastic tread by the driver's door is separating. Does anyone know how to get a replacement? I have not had any luck finding just this piece on-line and I don't want to buy a complete sidestep.

Have you tried calling the manufacturer of the sidesteps?

The sidesteps came on the truck from the factory and were on it when I bought it. Do I call Dodge or are they made by a 3rd party manufacturer?

You can give it a try. They maybe able to assist you however I am just wondering what the warranty would be. I'm know in canada it's the 3yrs 60.

It doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I wanted to paint my OEM, WTW side steps and when I took off the end caps I found that the treads were attached with what looks like 15-20 tabs per tread. I could not figure out how to release all the tabs with out destroying the treads.

My 2013 thread edge is seperating. I purchased the truck in May of '13 with 4 miles, now it is October '14 with 47k miles. I was wondering the same thing.

You can go to the Steve White Motors website and buy the tread pieces from their parts department. To remove the old step you need a flat object to press in on the sides underneath the tread to get the tabs to unlock, then the new one just presses on. You will see once you get the new one.

I bought my tuck in May of 13 and noticed a tear in October and the whole pad is loose on the drivers side. The Pass side is so tight it won't budge.
I am curious if this is covered under warranty since they were on the truck at the time of purchase.
