Default Shifting

4.7 L engine. Is the transmission shift points adjustable? The engine seems to downshift somewhat soon. It apparently relies on rpm for bourse power rather than torque. This 2002 model is a new acquisition to our stable of used cars/trucks and I'm learning all it's quirks. Also, any value to adding a modification to the ECM (HP, mpg, etc.). Your experience will be appreciated. Thanks. Ted
