She pulls like nobody's business, my friend. With the 3.42 rear axle, she's a little slower to get moving, but the mileage on the highway is great right now. She's probably slow to get going because I babied her with the little horse trailer I had hooked up-I bet it was only about 5,000 lbs. I'm starting to think the little (2) horse bumper pull weighs more than I think. The GVWR on the trailer itself is 7800 lbs. It's an aluminum trailer with a tac room up front. I had it hooked up this weekend and loaded with furniture (not horses!), and I could actually tell I was towing something. Probably just enough weight to make the Cummins angry with me!

I hope AVS vent visors, 30% tint, and the cabin air filter mod are OK-that's all I've got just now. Not a big mod person, but would like a Hellwig rear sway bar to tighten the rear up a bit in preparation for a camper purchase!

Your truck looks great with the pillar tape removed!

What did you cut your filter slot with? I used a hobby knife when I did mine but it was a real pain trying to keep it neat and straight.

Thanks! I used a hot knife (with razor tip) that the wife had laying around. One of those hot knives you do woodwork with-the kind that will actually burn into wood. It worked great. I wanted to smooth everything out with my drimmel tool and fine sandpaper, but I couldn't get the fan motor off to clean it out-I have a piece just beneath the motor to keep people from kicking the fan I guess. I didn't want to take the piece off for fear I'd ruin the push pin. I think I'll have another go at it this weekend-I can't stand not being perfect, regardless of whether you'll ever see it or not.

That's not anger, that's the low grunt of a good time for that Cummins. Your right with the 3.42s but oh how sweet it is going to be when you drive on by the fuel station. Wait till its broke in, mileage should only get better. No ball for gooseneck as of yet, but "yanked" (proper word) a 2-horse bumper-pull similar to yours with 2 big warmbloods (~1500lbs each) in it the other day. Had to keep checking back to see if I lost the trailer. No sweat for the 3500 and 4.10s. Smooth from the start to the stop. Exhaust brake works pretty nice.

Horseman Looks great, like always you never disappoint
if when you get a chance and open up the air filter you can hear the turbo spooling up sounds great then when your off the throttle the exhaust break is fantastic.
if your interested look at my pics so you can see what I did.

How is the ride quality of the 2500 in comparison to the 1500? I'm considering a 2500 instead of my original plan to get a 1500. I do not tow often, but will tow about 8500 pounds when I drag the car hauler around.

Love that brown color combo btw. What interior color do you have?
