Nck will become famous soon enough
Default Stock air intake to a carburetor air cleaner.

I've heard about people doing this. They replaced the stock air intake with a carburetor air intake.
What could I expect from this? Pro's and con's, if any of you have ever done this. Maybe more power because the air is going directly into the engine, or will my truck just run like trash.

I'll hazard a guess that you're asking if a standard 14x3 air cleaner assembly will fit your throttle body. Yes it will. I've had one on my truck for at least 5 years.

As far as performance over a stock air intake or any other CAI, the effect is negligible. It certainly isn't any less than stock, even in hot weather, but it won't turn your truck into a rubber burning monster either.

The best aspect of such a mod is that it will assist other mods such as a larger TB, intake manifold, cam or rocker arms, etc.

Okiespaniels, I was thinking of doing that mod also but was concerned with it clogging or getting too wet in the bad rainstorms we get here in Fl. and affecting the RPM's of the engine. Have you ever had a problem with your set-up under those conditions? I assume you have other than a paper type element on your set up.
