Got my cabin air filter installed. No problems other than my large hands had a hard time getting into the area to do the cutting.

I just got my new Ram 1500 a week ago. I happened on this filter thread and looks like something I want to try. By looking on the website for ordering, it is installed behind the glove boxes under the dash? How often do these filters need to be cleaned or changed? Is it easy enough to pull the glove boxes out to change and clean the filter?

Will this filter have anything to do with how well the AC blows or is it just to filter dust.

RobD70 - how long the filter lasts depends on your driving conditions -- if you drive in dusty areas you may want to change it more often; once a year is probably fine for most conditions, but you might want to check it out after the first six months.
The glove box drops out without tools, so the only bother is emptying your stuff out.

Sounds good. I will be ordering one tonight yet.

I see you have a 1500 SLT in the Deep Cheery red color to. The same as mine. I will attach a picture of mine.

got mine in, works well

there may be a touch less air flow but the less dust is worth it

Just did mine, used a hot knife and went through it like butter. Hot knife is a good idea so little bits of plastic don't drop into the fan motor. maybe took 20 min, i got all my parts from the dealer using the part numbers posted, cost about $30.00 CDN.
What a brilliant idea, thanks to the guy who first shared this.

What air filter do you use? Like for which model and make?
I assume since the cabin air filters don't come installed from factory they don't have a '2013 Ram 1500 cabin air filter' number posted in the book at the local store.

Go to geno's garage.

http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....ber=GG-CFF1012

2013 trucks have a cable that attaches to the glovebox that needs to be disconnected to remove it to access the interior air box.
