Make sure when you put Teflon tape on that the first 3-4 threads are what is wrapped that is what makes your seal. U can try tape and dope again focusing on the first 3-4 threads.

I finally just took it all apart again and removed all the thread tape, applied rectorseal 5 thread sealant, reassembled, and no leaks so far. After fighting this, I don't know that I want to use tape anymore. The thread sealant seems to work much better.

I've redone it 4 times now lol. Couplers galore...

It's little hick-ups in projects of this sort that causes me to either get a buddy who knows more than I, or I hire someone to do my plumbing for me.

I'll stick to the stuff with wires.... It's a lot easier to understand. LOL

Glad that you got your problem fixed. It's amazing how much a lil dope will help

Yeah it was frustrating, that's for sure. I've done a bit of plumbing work and never fought a leak like this. Typically I'm fine with pvc/cpvc and struggle a little with copper because I don't have a lot of experience with copper.

My project is moving along though, I should be pouring the preslope for the shower floor later today.

LOL

The plumbing stayed dry

Here's where I'm at now...

Liner is done. Will water test tomorrow.

I know this is late.
I have done many plumbing projects.

I have used 5 wraps to T-Tape plus pipe dope. Also I forget the brand some t-tape is a little thicker than others. Thats why I go ahead and use 5 wraps to ensure I have enough.

I have had 0 leaks as a result.
Also make sure its not a slow acting pipe dope. This one is the one I use and has worked great. Its a prefence.

Thanks I got the plumbing all sorted out using pipe dope. Worked like a charm.

It's been slow going, I've been pretty busy, but I did get the cub done a couple weekends ago and am ready to put the cement board up:

Not sure anyone cares but figured I'd still post some updates:

Just have to pour the top layer of mod for the floor and then I'm ready to tile!

Thanks

It's a lot of work building a conventional shower pan. I will pour the final layer of dry pack/deck mud this weekend over the liner. After that I can tile.
