ok so i have a 2006 1500 with a 5.7 and im wondering if there is a way to turn off the mds with out buying a tune?

When you start the truck, put the truck into manual mode. Slide shifter to the left for counsel style or push button on end of shifter arm if equipped. You have effectively shut off the MDS but only until you shut the truck off or you go back to auto mode (pressing the button again or pressing shifter to the right). You will need to do this every time you drive if you don't want MDS.

thanks for the info bud...i finally found the mds shut off in the tunning options lol im running an edge evo HT on a 91 tune with the mds option off...love it now way better as for the tunner for anyone interested in a edge evo ht its an amazing product there is one down side to it...for some reason the only way i can get it to tune successfully is if i set the device on my console then plug it in and dont bump the wire or device or it will say tunning failed after it does the whole process of tunning then you have to recover to stock then start over i dont get it really i check the port plug its snug and good connection but other than that ordeal its great and i love the tunning options and tey keep the products updated
