I see. I will then take another closer look at the wiring as well.
Thanks.

Hi everyone. I finally took the plunge and got a new actuator from the dealer. It costed about $150 with taxes. I replaced the Driver side unit this time around, as its the side I use always. It was definitely the actuator unit. I will attempt the passenger side at some point.
Thanks everyone for your input.

im having very similar issue with right side front and rear doors, my rear door has been malfunctioning for few months, front passenger door just recetly started, sometimes they open sometimes they dont, and sometimes the lock only moves 1 or 2 mm instead of popping all the way up to unlock. since i have more time then money i checked i removed all boots and looked for torn wires with no luck. So im thinking a torn wire not visble or maybe the actuator, how much does the dealer charge to diagnose? im pretty sure i can replace the part myself

I would imagine its about 1 hour and translates to about $100, depending on the dealer hourly rate,

If you are doing the disassembly of the door panel and replacement yourself, I would say just order the part. I believe it is the actuator. the symptoms and degrading operation are tell-tale signs of its failure.

Took me about 2 hrs. I had to use a support for the driver side window.

I hope it helps and good luck.

2010 would be correct. If you've got a little bit of movement, then you can bet dollars to pesos that the actuator is losing its umph. I'd check salvage yards, ebay or Amazon for an actuator. No since in paying dealer prices.

Anybody got a quick part number for these actuators?
I've had a 2010 - 2500 for about a month, but have just starting building the tool bed and driving it more. First I noticed the R/R door was not locked when all should have been ... then a night or so ago it WAS working; and then it jammed up so that it wouldn't lock or unlock at all, even manually. Gotta get this fixed no matter what; those are the kids doors.
I'd lean towards replacing all four, but we gotta find a better way than $600! With only four, maybe five years on the truck, and 67,000 miles, it seems premature to fail to me too.
And as a safety device, it should almost be prone to recall.

I've posted instructions with pictures on how to replace the actuator here:

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread....89#post1471889

Took me about 45 minutes. Easy job to do. Will try to break into the failed one that I pulled out to see if it's repairable for next time instead of the $150 from the dealer to replace.
