if your floppin between the kid in you than you should go big (22"/24") and do cutouts... the change in sound is drastic...I go from grandpa (I am one) to irresponsible teen at the flip of the switch...

define "a bunch of cutouts", our terminology maybe different. it's all about placement and mods...when you do a cam, heads and longtubes..it sounds like nascar....

So, I went with the 18" (With resonators) I'm quite happy that I did. Here is a picture of the 18" Mufflex next to the stock unit.

I sorta installed this without telling my wife to see if she says anything about it. So far, she hasn't said anything. To be honest, if I had heard this before I bought it, I would of gone with the 22" out of fear that it was going to be too loud. But now that I have a few miles on it, it's perfect. The cab of the 2013 is really quite quiet, and the sound gets muffled out. If you stereo is above 10, you can't hear it at all unless you lay on the throttle -- and even then, you can hear the resonators doing their job as it mutes out a bit > 4500 RPM's.

Quick Update of the 18" Maggie/Mufflex after putting 2,000 Miles on it which should be an adaquate "Break-in" for it.

2013 Hemi 5.7 - 6sp, 3.55's, resonators still on.

So, yes, it does drone. There is a drone from ~68-74mph when the engine is cruising and has any sort of slight load on it. And from ~55-68mph with medium load. I really noticed it climbing any sort of grade.

It really only happens on the final gear drive. (6th gear which is the same as 8th on the 8-speed) And overall, it's not that bad, but it is there. If you hit Tow-Haul and pop the truck out of OD, it goes away, and I only did that if I knew I'd be in a load situation for longer than a min or 2.

Overall, I'd still recommend it.

Odd, my Jones MaxFlow is pretty much a direct copy of the 18" Maggy. The only drone I get is in the 40-50mph range with ECO/MDS mode on. Drop her into 4th or 5th gear and drone goes away, just sweet V-8 exhaust notes. Mine got louder after about 6 months of use.. 2 months did not break it in. Just thought I would throw that out there if anyone is worried about drone.

Same experience with the 22". I was wondering if I could get a muffler shop to install a resonator in front of the maggie and sacrifice a little sound for no drone. I do mostly highway driving so this is pretty annoying to me. Anyone with more experience think this might work?

I’m surprised that you have drone with your 22”. I have the same muffler with the resonators deleted and I have ZERO drone in my cab. When I had my muffler installed I expressed to the shop that I wanted as little drone as possible. He told me (whether or not this is true I will leave it up to your discretion) that a major cause of drone is how the exhaust exits the vehicle. So re recommended that I push my new tips about an inch and a half past my bumper cut-outs. This way “the sound waves emitting from my exhaust will not bounce off the inside of the bumper and reverberate throughout the truck”

Whether or not this is true I don’t know, but I said SURE When he installed the muffler since it’s the look that I wanted, but I have no drone and the resonators deleted. With that being said I’ve often wondered if the resonators themselves induce a drone with different muffler setups. After all they’re designed to work with the frequency emitted from the stock muffler.

I also have a spray in Armor-Thane bed liner that may aid in reducing drone since its essentially applying dynamat to the bed of your truck.

I hope you can figure it out.
