Hey,
It was great meeting you guys Chris and Zach

I was actually thinking the 8 speed was going to walk away with it to the 330 but these trucks are really evenly matched as tested.
I guess I tried to squeeze a little too much out of the lights when I red lit

First run in the 74 Dart Sport ever on Saturday and I was ready to give up going to the track anymore because it ran like crap for what it is, putting down a 14.2 @ 94.8
After that pass I pulled the hood and found one of the garbage Summit Racing plug wires had fallen off so I ended up tie wrapping it so it wouldn't fall of again. I should know by now not to try and cheap out on aftermarket parts.
Next pass was a little better 13.01 @101.10 followed by a 12.95 @106.39 on a qualifier for the 12.90 index.
I could hear the engine rattling it's brains out on the 89 octane fuel so I pulled 3 degrees of timing thinking it would probably slow down but pedaling it to stay a fender ahead of the other competitor during eliminations it ran too quick 12.77 @ 104 lifting. I'm still short shifting it so I think there is at least a 12.50 in it.

My next trip to TMP should be July 5th.

Cheers,

Going to have to put some 94 in it, get the timing right, and get some good wires, then see if you can get it close to 11's.

Nice job Keith
Considering it was your first time out with the car, I'd say that's pretty respectable times. Well once you had 8 cylinders working lol
That's a nice ride

I can't wait to finally get mine to the strip and get a baseline as well. Hopefully I get my new trans, scattershield, flex plate and torque converter in the car tomorrow and should have it ready to go in a couple weeks.

My driveshaft is supposed to be ready this week, just have to hook up my line lock, install a monster tach, run new brake lines on the rear diff and bleed system. And I have to upgrade my alternator for my new rad with electric fans. I have all the parts, it's just finding the time to do the work lol

Really excited to drive mine this season, should be a different animal than it was last year lol

Thanks again Keith for running your truck. Look forward to having a few races with our old cars sometime this summer.
Hopefully you don't tree me so bad when I have a gas pedal that actually responds to input lmao

I need to up the octane for sure and get into the jetting and timing as well but I find the race weekends are not really the time to adjust things too much.
Sometimes a bunch of us go in on a track rental day near the end of the season and with only 25 cars there it's a great day to get some tuning done.

It sounds like you still have a fair amount of work to get the car ready.
Hopefully you'll have it out soon and running the way you want.

Make sure to post back when you get it to the track and maybe we can line them up. I think I'll be at a disadvantage.

I like the Dial real well. But takes time to get used to the shifter on the dash like the old Plymouth's back in the 60's they were push button on the dash.
