Default p3425 code

Got a 2008 Hemi with a p3425 error code. Did a google search and found it is a MDS solenoid 4 circuit error. How do you replace the solenoid? Is it a hard repair?

Thanks

Steve Gilo

Welcome to this RamforumZ

are you using 5w-20 motor oil ?
30 weight can cause the MDS to malfunction

I read this somewhere, maybe on a Jeep site

P3425 code. Definition: Solenoid 4 circuit. Explanation: The ECM has detected a fault in the solenoid control circuit. Probable cause: 1- Open or short circuit condition. 2- Faulty MDS 4 solenoid. 3- ECM fault. I usually feel when the MDS activates and notice the drop in RPM's but did not after the water pump replacement. Gas milege has dropped but now after 2 weeks it feels like the MDS is activating again. Had the light reset but is on again. Not sure where to start without getting the intake removed to check MDS 4 solenoid

Re: Fault code, P3425

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

they are under the intake manifold: from the 2007 manual;

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intake manifold. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD - REMOVAL).
3. Remove wiring harness connectors from the MDS solenoids.
4. Remove hold down bolt from MDS solenoid.
5. Remove MDS solenoid.
