Talking 2013 (5.7L) Hemi V8 395hp is a BEAST!!!!

Hey guys I just wanted to put some positive info on here for the people wanting to know about the 2013 (5.7L) Hemi V8 395hp.

I had time this weekend to do some driving with my new 35 12.50 20 tires (74) lbs each I was worried about power loss but boy was I wrong!

To be honest I cannot tell one bit of difference between the new tires and the stock 33s that were on it as far as power goes. I know this sounds weird but It actually feels like it has more power now. I mean this thing runs like a scolded ape! Highway running at 75 flooring it to pass I hit 100 in no time at all.

I decided to stop and do a 0-60 well I did not get a time but I did get a surprise I floored it and both tires started screaming so I let off the gas lol. So much for the anti spin diff! If feels like the dealer snuck in a chip or something when they changed the radio lol. What a beast this thing is I and very pleased with this truck and will buy Rams from now on.

Goes to show how totally unreliable the old "butt dyno" really is...

That combination is deadly! My Sport has yet to arrive but my old man's 2013 Longhorn flies. For a full size truck it boogies beyond belief and that's not an exaggeration.

I test drove a hemi with 3.55s 8-speed and it seemed pretty darn quick. Just by my butt meter i would saying my tundra 5.7 pulled harder though

I should get my new sport with 3.92 and that should even things up.

can't wait

I'm jealous of you 8 speed guys. I find that with 3.55's and the 6 speed the truck is sluggish off the line, but does wake up when the RPMs come up.

Here is my "butt-dyno" theory. I drove both a 3.55 and 3.92 4x4 Hemi 8spd. Basically the same truck, same trim, only difference being the gearing. My feel on the stocker tires is that when empty the 3.55 actaully drives better, it seems as thought with the 3.92 and the 8spd the first few gears are too short and it does not spend anytime in the meat of the powerband before it shifts. The 3.55 seem like a better match to the 8spd and stock 33" tires. Now, my hypothesis is that adding a larger OD tire with the 3.92 helps bring the overall gear ratio back into the sweet spot and no longer is "over geared." Just my opinion but since I plan to go with larger tires I also will be ordering the 3.92 and think it will result in the best "butt dyno" feel even if it is not truly faster.

I agree with your opinion. I couldn't find a Hemi 8 speed 3.92 when i test drove, but i did drive a 3.55 and wasn't overly impressed with it off the line. So i ordered the 3.92 and it is a totally different beast. I do agree that first gear seems a bit too low at times so i've got bigger tires coming...also looking for that sweet spot.
