Even more surprising that it's staying in 4th gear with 3.92's.... 6000lb is a heavy load but on flat land at 70 you should be in 5th. I even took tow/haul off part of the time on long flat straights when I towed the 4000 lbs with my 4.7L with 3.55s at 70mph. Granted I have it tuned so shift schedules and all that are not stock, but still. It did go in to 6th gear on those long flats and was fine. Any incline at all and it'd downshift to 4th for a second then upshift to 5th. Steep hills once we got in to the mountains I spent a lot of time in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Crawling up the mountains certainly was fun with a trailer on twisty roads where the lane isn't as wide as the truck lol.

I know you definitely don't want to tow on a performance tune. The performance tune advances the timing too much which will give you horrible knocking when towing a significant amount of weight.
That's What I was scared of...I wonder if i should take it into dodge and get everything checked out.

First off, how much does your 5th wheel weigh? RV makers are notorious for listing their trailer weights low, by the time you load it up, get water on board and gear, it may weight quit a bit more. Also, it probably catches quit a bit of air. As far as what gear it should be in, I'm not sure. I don't know how the tow haul button works on your year truck. On my truck, it locks out overdrive.

T/H locks out 6th gear(the second overdrive), utilizes the 3rd gear in upshifts, and extends shift points and increases engine braking.

the manufacture lists my trailer at 6270lbs I would say that I'd never come close to having 1000lbs of crap.

I think I want to get a bully dog or trinity tuner.
Just cant decide witch tuner will best suite my needs. Does either have a towing tune? or does everyone just use the performance tune for towing?
Does anyone else out there pull 6000lbs with there half tons? Or am I the only one that dosent want to spend a pile more and get a diesel?
I pull a 7000Ibs (Empty) travel trailer pull behind. I have the 1500 4x4 hemi crew cab with 3.55 gears and mine only goes above 3k RPM up hills. Otherwise it cruises in the low 2k Range. But I do only get 8MPG towing it.

I thought the 6 speed transmissions did not come out till the 2012 model year.

The "6 speed" 65rfe is essentially identical to the previous "5 speed" 545rfe transmission.

Not true; I tow on a 87 performance tune, and simply run 89 octane while towing. I've even towed on 93 performance tune with no knocking.
